Bevagna dispenses food when a pedal is pressed, and does it with no electronics at all. There is nothing to charge, nothing to pair, no schedule to programme and no failure mode that involves a router.
Food sits in the hopper above and drops into the integrated bowl when the pedal below is pressed. Cats work this out quickly — the food appears while they are standing over the bowl, which is the shortest possible link between action and result.
This is the feature that makes it more than a gravity bowl. Unlocked, the cat helps itself; locked, the hopper stays shut. That gives you a way to stop free access at night, or when one cat in the house is eating more than its share.
Nothing to plug in means it can go anywhere — a utility room, a spare bedroom, a shed — and it cannot miss a meal because of a power cut. The trade is that it cannot enforce portions or a schedule.
