Description

Sirolo is a self-cleaning slicker brush: 20 cm long, 8 cm wide, 55 grams, with a push-button that retracts the pins.

The button is the entire point

Anyone who has groomed a long-haired cat knows the rhythm: three strokes, then stop and pull a mat of hair out of the brush with your fingers, by which time the cat has decided the session is over. Pressing the button withdraws the pins and the whole mat of hair lifts away in one piece, so the session continues. On a cat with a short attention span, that is the difference between a proper groom and a token one.

Light in the hand

55 grams with a shaped grip. Grooming is a wrist movement repeated a hundred times; a light tool is a tool you keep using to the end of the cat rather than stopping at the shoulders.

Nothing to maintain

No batteries, no charging, no replacement heads. Press the button to empty it and put it away.

On the measurements

Allow a 1 to 3 cm tolerance on the figures. Against a depth of 2 cm, that tolerance is larger than the measurement, so treat the dimensions as approximate.

Self-Cleaning Cat Comb Sirolo — shown at home with cats

Less hair on the sofa, less in the cat

A few minutes of grooming collects the loose coat before it ends up on your clothes and furniture — or swallowed while your cat washes itself.

When to do it

On your lap or on a towel in a spot the cat already likes, at a quiet moment — after a meal rather than before one. Work with the lie of the coat, never against it.

Measured, then published

No “large” or “compact” standing in for a figure: the self-cleaning cat comb with its dimensions drawn on it, so you can check it against your own space instead of trusting a photograph.

Frequently asked questions

My cat hates being brushed.

Brush for thirty seconds and stop while it is still going well — ending before the cat objects is what builds tolerance. Start at the cheeks and along the spine, which most cats accept, and leave the belly and the back legs until much later. A cat that has never been groomed will not sit through ten minutes on the first day.

How often should I groom?

Once a week for a short-haired cat, daily for a long-haired one. Long coats mat close to the skin where you cannot see it, and a mat that has already formed has to be cut out rather than combed — which is a vet job more often than people expect.

Does grooming really reduce hairballs?

It reduces how much loose hair a cat swallows while washing itself, which is where hairballs come from. It is not a treatment. A cat bringing up hairballs frequently, or retching without producing anything, needs a vet rather than a brush.

Will my cat actually use it?

Cats accept new things on their own timetable. Put it where your cat already chooses to be — the sunny corner, the room the household uses most — and leave it alone for a few days rather than presenting it. A little catnip helps on anything meant to be slept on or scratched. Anything worn or handled should be left out to be sniffed and walked away from several times before you use it.

What if it does not suit my cat?

You have 30 days from delivery to send it back. Returns are free and the refund goes to the payment method you used. You do not need to give a reason.
